Pregnancy, Labour and Giving Birth an Audio HypnoBirthing Course by Sister Mary
Looking forward.
My Natural Pain Free Birth an Audio HypnoBirthing Course
My HypnoBirthing Course is a complete Pregnancy & Birth Education Programme that teaches women simple but specific self hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for stress free pregnancy and labour. The job of letting go of fears and worries connected with labour and childbirth will be dealt with long before your delivery date. Once these have been let go the expectant mother is free to enjoy this very natural process ... this life giving process with joy and anticipation.
The HypnoBirthing Course I provide is much more than just self hypnosis or hypnotherapy for childbirth. With my HypnoBirthing Course, women discover that severe pain does not have to go hand in hand with labour. I teach women how to release the fears and anxieties they may have about giving birth, and even how to overcome previous traumatic births. My Hypnobirthing Course gives women the opportunity to discover and experience the joy and magic of birth - rather than the horrific ordeal we are told it is meant to be. Each woman can imagine how she would like her experience of the birth to be, once she has involved her imagination she is giving herself the chance to entertain the possibility that a pain free enjoyable labour and delivery can indeed be experienced.
Most importantly, I show women how to put themselves back in control of their birth rather than blindly turning their birthing experience over to their doctor or midwives.
Hypnobirthing does not mean being in a trance or a sleep while giving birth. On the contrary, you'll be able to chat, be in control, relaxed and in good spirits – as I said totally relaxed, but fully in control. You'll always be aware of what is happening to you, and around you, always able to take advice from your medical team.
In a nutshell, Hypnobirthing allows every woman regardless of age or physique to experience birth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear and tension that prevents the birthing muscles of their bodies from functioning as Nature intended them to.
Having a contraction in Hypnosis
How does Hypnosis compare to medical anaesthesia?
What causes most pain in labour and childbirth is the fear of pain, when you burn your fingers or stub your toe you automaticallycontract your muscles, this is as Mother Nature intended us to do to protect ourselves from further danger. However, when you are experiencing contractions during labour by allowing your body to relax and flow with the movement of the baby down the birth canal you are in fact helping your baby’s path into the world. How medical anaesthesia works is that it is administered during the fear-tension-pain cycle at the point of pain. Hypnosis breaks that fear-tension-pain cycle long before you deliver at the point of fear. All of those fears have evaporated before you experience that first contraction.
What does my HypnoBirthing Course comprise of?
I have five audio high quality downloads broken down into the following parts:
- Addressing Fears about birth
- Dealing with the Emotional and Physical Stresses during Pregnancy
- Preparing for Labour
- During Labour
- Post Natal Recovery and Bonding with baby
Part 1
I would recommend that you listen to this audio between weeks 20 and 25 of your pregnancy.
This audio allows you to experience that feeling of hypnosis, that calm, relaxed feeling in all parts of your mind and body. This also addresses fears and misconceptions about labour and birth allowing you to experience your pregnancy in a very positive way, looking forward with excitement to your labour and holding your baby for the first time. Focusing on that ever increasing love between you and your beautiful baby.
Part 2
I would recommend that you listen to this audio between weeks 26 and 28 of your pregnancy.
This audio provides you with the tools to cope with the emotional and physical stresses during pregnancy. I also give you a powerful “trigger” which if you regularly practised will find yourself relaxed and calm in all situations and with all people.
Part 3
I would recommend that you listen to this audio between weeks 29 and 31 of your pregnancy.
This audio starts the preparation for stress free and pain free labour. This module teaches you how to use your imagination to rehearse for the real event. By imagining how you choose your labour and delivery to be, on a daily basis, you are making it so. What you perceive in your mind’s eye is what you can achieve. So why not learn to see a wonderful pain free, joyous experience?
Part 4
I would recommend that you listen to this audio between weeks 32 and 35 of your pregnancy.
This is the rehearsal for the birth and delivery. I would suggest that you take this into the labour suite with you to listen to during labour. You are in control throughout your labour; you are feeling relaxed and calm, easily taking advice from your medical team. This labour is going as nature intended it to go, you and your baby are safe.
Part 5
I would recommend that you listen to this audio around week 38 of your pregnancy and after the birth of your baby.
This audio concentrates on recovery and healing after birth and enhancing the bonding between you r and your baby. I also have included a section which deals with overcoming anxieties to do with breast feeding where applicable.

How often should you listen to the audio?
The subconscious mind is conditioned by repetition. If you hear something plausible often enough you start to believe it. Everything you ever learned is stored in your subconscious mind, which is why once you learned to drive competently you never had to think about going up and down gears, you just did it automatically. The more often you listen to the audios the more the positive suggestions contained within are accepted and acted on during your delivery. I would recommend that you listen at least once a day starting with Part 1 and then putting that aside to listen to Part 2 etc. Parts 4 and 5 can be listened to during the last couple of weeks of pregnancy, perhaps at different times of the day.
For best results copy the audio to an MP3 or iPod and listen to in bed at night. Many women worry about falling asleep and not listening actively to what is being said on the audio. Don’t let this concern you, this is supposed to happen. Your conscious mind falls asleep while you subconscious mind listens and takes the suggestions on board. All you have to do is enjoy your audio and look forward to that wonderful experience of holding your baby for the very first time.
